Until the age of 13, Mona Dixon and her family were homeless and sleeping on the streets and in shelters. A few years later, she was named Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Youth of the Year Award winner, honored by U.S. President Barack Obama in the Oval Office, and received a Presidential Appointment to the Corporation for National & Community Service to improve lives, strengthen communities, and foster civic engagement through service and volunteering. Ms. Dixon will share her powerful story of overcoming homelessness to become a presidential appointee, teen empowerment leader, author, success coach, and PhD candidate.
